1. The wrong conditions of keeping can be the reasons of decay of cactus. Here improper soil which badly passes water and air, the improper size pot - too small or too big belongs. If soil badly passes water, it will stand on surface that causes rotting of stalk in radical zone. And the fact that the soil does not pass air, means that roots cannot dry out, too begin to decay, and from them decay passes also to trunk. Too small pot will cause dying off of roots which rotting can pass to stalk too. And too big pot long does not dry out, and roots begin to decay too. Too abundant and frequent waterings are the frequent reason of decay, they are harmful even in the summer during growth of cactus, and any moisture is contraindicated in the winter. Decay can begin even from spraying - in cold weather moisture, lingering on cactus stalk, causes its rotting, the accumulated puddle around growth point is especially dangerous. If the point of growth has decayed, full death of many species of cactus — only matter of time. Not all can form of them on edges and edges of children.
2. But happens that the cactus begins to decay without any visible reasons even at the correct mode of watering and well picked up soil with pot. In this case the rotting reason most often in infection with pathogenic microorganisms: viruses, bacteria and the lowest mushrooms.
