Easter wreath (козунак)

This sweet bread in Bulgaria is traditionally baked by Easter holiday.

It is required to you

  • - 40 g of a fresh yeast
  • - 200 ml of milk
  • - 200 g of granulated sugar
  • - 1/2 чайн. salt spoons

  • - dried peel of 1 lemon

Instruction

1. For a sponge dough kindle yeast in 100 ml of warm milk, add 1 tablespoon of sugar, salt, 300 g of flour and knead dough. Put to the warm place to approach approximately for 1 hour.

2. Shake up yolks a nimbus with the remained granulated sugar. Kindle a desi. Beat egg whites separately from yolks the mixer before formation of magnificent strong foam.

3. Add to a sponge dough the melted butter, yolks, proteins which remained 100 ml of milk, vanillin and flour. Carefully vent dough and put to the warm place for rise.

4. Carefully wash out raisin and well dry, having spread out on a paper towel. It is possible to mix with 1 tablespoon of flour. Largely chop almonds.

5. Add a dried peel of orange and a lemon, the prepared raisins, nuts to the suitable dough and mix. Cover with a towel and let's rise once again. Then divide dough into two parts.

6. Weave a braid out of two parts of the test. Place on a baking tray so that in the middle there was an opening, and let's rise a little. Bake 1 hour at a temperature of 180 °C. In 30 minutes cover top with a foil.

7. Get a wreath from an oven, let's cool down slightly, then powder from above with icing sugar, and in the center of a braid put Easter eggs in an opening.
