- herring of light-salted 500 g;

- red onions of 100 g;

- cranberry of 200 g;

- red wine vinegar of 200 ml;

- water of 200 ml;

- sugar of 40 g;

- basil of 20 g;

- garden cress of 10 g.

It is better to use the Norwegian cooled herring as its taste is most expressive.
