Danube is the largest river of Southeast and Central Europe which is the second river after Volga on the area of a reservoir and extent. Danube belongs to the Black Sea basin, and its total area is equal to 817 thousand square kilometers. So how many inflows at this giant?
Inflows of Danube
Danube begins in the mountains of Schwarzwald where it originates from two mountain streams Brigs and Breguet which merge at the height of 678 meters. From there the river goes to the way through Europe to the Black Sea to which Danube flows throughout 2860 kilometers. Features of Danube
Flowing into the Black Sea, Danube begins to branch on three main sleeves which are called Kiliysky, Sulinsky and Georgiyevsky. In the same place waters of the river form the delta which area is 3500 square kilometers. The Kiliysky sleeve is the deepest branch of Danube as it possesses of 98 kilometers, from 280 to 1200 meters wide and from 5 to 35 meters in depth. Other sleeves – Sulinsky and Georgiyevsky - are not so big, however their sizes impress too.
