How to change drawing scale

Designers, designers, engineers often should change the scale of earlier made drawings. For skilled masters — it is a simple task, however it quite often nonpluses beginners.

Instruction

1. For scaling of the drawing use graphic systems, basic of which are: "Kompas-Grafik"; AutoCAD; Varison; TopCAD; "Basis". Also MATCAD, ADEM, CREDO are applied. In practice by rather often ordinary users the Compass program in which work does not present big complexity is used.

2. Start the Compass program and load a changeable object. Initially, in the new drawing scale 1:1 has the created appearance. It is possible to make sure of it, having included the option "Construction Tree" ("Look" → "A construction tree"). Here the name of the drawing and the place of its arrangement, and  also names, quantity and types of the applied scales is displayed. The operating current look will be designated by a symbol — (t).

3. The scale of a look can be changed in an above-mentioned "A construction tree" at any time, having right-clicked on the necessary look, and having chosen necessary scale.

4. When developing the new graphic drawing it is necessary to create a new look ("Insert" → "Look") and to choose the necessary scale which value if necessary can be entered also by means of the keyboard.

5. It is possible to make sure of "A tree of construction" that the set look became current and in it it is already possible to perform graphic works. Pay attention that drawing is carried out in scale 1:1, and the program automatically recalculates it in set.

6. Manually scaling occupies a significant amount of time and demands in fact creation of a new object. Use graph paper for convenience. Put reference points and lines by the sizes of the changeable drawing. From them count the necessary quantity of cages in big or smaller (in inside drawing) the party. Expose new reference points a pencil and execute the drawing. You receive the same object, but in scale.
