1. Alcohol can contain various impurity of fusel oils which are poisonous and hazardous to health. There are several ways to check quality of alcohol independently, in house conditions. For reliability, all is better to use them.
2. Mix 1 tablespoon of alcohol and as much pure cold water. Quickly rinse a mouth alcohol and spit out it. If you feel smack of plastic, the quality of alcohol bad means.
3. Take a mirror and carefully wash baking soda. Wash out it under flowing water. Leave a mirror to dry. Do not wipe it and do not accelerate drying process. On completely dry surface of a mirror drip several drops of alcohol. Now it is necessary to wait until alcohol completely evaporates. Process of evaporation has to be natural, it is impossible to accelerate it. When drops of alcohol evaporate, look whether there are traces and stains on a mirror. If there are no stains, so alcohol clean. If stains are, so at alcohol there are oils, and the more stains, the their is more.
4. Add several crystals of potassium permanganate to a glass of water. Weak solution has to turn out. In net capacity pour three tablespoons of alcohol, then add one tablespoon of solution of potassium permanganate. It is necessary to observe and look at time further. If alcohol is painted in color of potassium permanganate in five minutes, so alcohol of high quality. If coloring happens earlier, so alcohol contains foreign impurity. The quicker there will be a coloring, the it is more than impurity. Temperature of alcohol has to be 15-20 degrees.
5. Alcohol is how strong it is possible to determine by the alcoholometer which is on sale in household shops. It is also possible to pour a little alcohol on a table and to set fire, than stronger burns, that alcohol is stronger.
