How to define an electric power expense

Electricity consumption is influenced by a set of factors. The greatest part of energy usually leaves for operation of lighting fixtures therefore it is better to begin actions for reduction of expenditure of electricity in this category.

Instruction

1. To define an electric power expense, it is enough to use a formula: W = P · t · T, where: W – electric power expense in kWh; P – the power consumed by the electroreceiver (electric device) in kW; t – operating time of the electroreceiver in day in hours; T – number of days of operation of the electroreceiver.

2. In turn, power consumption is calculated by a formula: P = Robshch·K, where: Robshch – the general rated capacity; K – demand coefficient. The value of coefficient is accepted proceeding from the number of electroreceivers, loading volume. It can be taken from a reference material.

3. So, it is possible to draw a conclusion that the volume of the consumed electric power is influenced directly by two factors: power of the device and time of its use. For consumers the electric power is not only economic need, but also goods on which it is possible and it is necessary to save. It not only will help to keep money for other needs, but also, no more, no less, – to preserve the planet from destruction of resources. In order that the power plant produced electricity, it is necessary to burn a certain fuel quantity or wood.

4. Unfortunately, to count independently an expense of the household electric power with a big accuracy very difficult as some devices possess various functions during which performance they consume different amount of energy. For example, the cycle of operation of the washing machine includes a set of water, its heating, washing, drying, etc. Therefore figures turn out approximate. To achieve a certain accuracy, use the automatic systems of calculation of the electric power, in other words, counters.

5. The most power consumed household appliance is, of course, a fridge. He, as a rule, works whole around the clock and consumes not less than 30% of all electric power. More modest in comparison with him are the washing machine, the vacuum cleaner, the iron and so forth. Buying the new electric device, it is necessary to learn about the power consumed by it at once. Usually the "more fancy" than the technician, the more it consumes. For orientation of buyers the technical devices are divided into energy efficiency classes: A, B, C, D, E, F and G. The most economical equipment belongs to the class A, B and C.

6. Often consumers economically use devices, but forget about other absorber of the electric power – an electric bulb. It is not necessary to leave light where it is not necessary, and it is better to replace bulbs with energy saving. They are much more expensive usual, but the durability will pay back costs of energy.
