The square is a geometrical figure at which all four parties are equal also all right angles. It is possible to divide without problems a square into 4 equal squares or into 4 identical triangles at once. But how to divide a square into six equal parts? It can be done both with a ruler, and without it.

Instruction
1. To divide a square into six parts – it means to receive as a result six geometrical figures, namely rectangles. That parts turned out identical, at first make a marking. For example, the square has the party 24 cm long. A ruler measure 12 cm from one party and 12 cm from opposite (parallel). Connect the received points the line which will halve a square on two rectangles of 24х12 cm in size.
2. Now continue a marking, only already on two other parties (perpendicular already marked). Divide both parties (concerning each other they are parallel) into 3 parts, at the same time each of them will turn out on 8 cm, connect the received points lines. Thus, 6 identical rectangles of 12х8 cm in size will turn out.
3. If there are near at hand no ruler and a pencil, and the square needs to be divided, then it is possible to do also without them. For this purpose bend a figure exactly in the middle. Then, without unbending, put three times the received long rectangle, accurately adjusting the formed parties. As a result the rectangle in folded form making 1/6 part of a square will have the size of 12х8 cm. Develop a square and on bends make a marking the handle.
4. It is possible to make a marking in a different way and to receive also 6 identical parts, only in this case they will already remind long narrow strips. Make a marking on a square. Length of the party is 24 cm, and all it is necessary to receive 6 parts, therefore each fragment will have width of 4 cm. For this purpose note by means of a ruler and a pencil of a point through each 4 cm on the one side of a square. Make the same also with another – the opposite (parallel) side. Connect the received points. 6 identical, strongly extended rectangles which have an appearance of strips of 24х4 cm in size turned out.
