The cube is, perhaps, the simplest three-dimensional object, both in the nature, and in stereometry. A cube is called the rectangular parallelepiped which all edges are equal among themselves. 1. To find a cube edge if there is a volume, take a root cubic of numerical value of its volume. That is find such number, the cube (third degree) of which will equal to cube volume.
2. For calculation of a cubic root use the calculator. Better if it is not the "accounting" calculator, but the calculator intended for engineering calculations. However even on the "engineering" calculator you will hardly find the separate button for extraction of a cubic root. Therefore use function of exponentiation. To extraction of a root cubic there corresponds exponentiation "one third" (1/3).
3. To build number in degree 1/3, gather number. Then press the exponentiation button. Depending on a calculator design, it can look as x^y, or xy (at – in the form of the small badge located is slightly higher). As the majority of calculators does not allow to enter fractions, instead of 1/3 take 0.33. If you wish to receive the big accuracy of calculations, increase the number of the three.
4. If the volume of a cube is expressed in the metric systems of units of measure, length of an edge of a cube will be measured in the corresponding linear unit. So, for example, if the volume of a cube is equal 8000 cubic meters (m³), then length of his edge will be equal 20 meters (m). If the volume of a cube is expressed in derivative of non-standard linear units of measure, then length of an edge will turn out in the corresponding linear units. So if the volume of a cube is set in cubic inches, length of an edge will turn out in inches (linear). If the volume of a cube is set in national, outdated, household and other specific units of measure of volume, previously transfer this volume to the most suitable metric analog – cubic millimeters, decimeters or meters.
