The quantum number characterizes numerical value of any given variable of an object of the microscopic world. In particular, the quantum number can define a condition of an electron.

1. The quantum number of an electron is considered the main quantum number. Its value shows energy of an electron (for example, in atom of hydrogen or in one-electron systems). At the same time energy of an electron is calculated on a formula: E =-13.6/(n^2) ev.N accepts only natural values here.
2. Electrons can form the so-called electronic level or an electron shell if in multielectronic levels there are electrons with identical value n. Levels in this case accept A, B, C value … and so on, corresponding to quantum number of n=3, 2, 1 … Quantum value, knowing at what level there is an electron, not difficult. The maximum number of electrons at the level directly depends on number n – 2 * (n^2).
3. Power or electronic level is a set of an electron in steady state. The main quantum number shows remoteness from a kernel.
4. Quantum orbital number 2 can accept values from 0 to n-2, characterizing a form of orbitals. Also it characterizes a subshell on which the electron also is located. Quantum number 2 has also alphabetic reference. To quantum numbers 2 = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 there correspond designations 2 = to s, p, d, f, g... Alphabetic references are also present at the record designating an electronic configuration of chemical element. The quantum number is determined by them. So, on a subshell can be up to 2 * (2l+1) electrons.
5. The quantum number of ml is called magnetic, at the same time, l is added from below as the index. Its data show an atomic orbital, accepting values from 1 to-1. Only (21+1) value.
6. The electron will be fermion, having half-integer backs which is equal ½. Its quantum number will accept two value: ½ and –½. And also to make two projections of an electron to an axis and to be considered as quantum number of MS.
