The volume or capacity are one of characteristics of substance or a body in space. Unit of measure of volume are cubic centimeters, cubic meters or liters, in the English system of units the volume is also measured in gallons and barrels. The way of measurement of volume depends on a form of an object and its linear sizes.

1. The volume occupied by some it is measuredsubstance in liters is also defined by its density and weight on formulev = by m/ρ where m is the mass of substance, ρ – its density.
2. The volume of solids is measured in cubic meters or cubic centimeters. The way of calculation at the same time depends on a shape of a body. For simple solids there are corresponding formulas, for example, the volume of the sphere of radius of R is calculated on formulev = (4/3) * π * by R³ where R is radius, π – the number πОбъём a cone with the set radius of the basis and height has formuluv = (1/3) * π * R² * h where R – radius, h – cone height, π – number π
3. The volume of any body can be calculated by means of integral calculus. If the rotation body f(x) set by function y = is set, then its volume can be determined on the formula given on the drawing.
4. For a cylindrical body with the basis of R which is limited from above z surface = by f (x, y) volume pays off with the help of double integral.
5. The volume of some body of U in the Cartesian coordinates, can be also calculated through threefold integral.
