How to transform expression to a polynomial

How to transform expression to a polynomial

Polynomial is called the sum of monomials, that is works of figures and variables. It is more convenient to work with it as most often transformation of expression to a polynomial allows to simplify it considerably.

Instruction

1. Remove all brackets of expression. For this purpose use formulas, for example, (and +b) ^2=a^2+2ab+b^2. If you do not know formulas, or it is difficult to apply them to this expression, remove the brackets consistently. For this purpose multiply the first member of the first expression on each member of the second expression, then the second member of the first expression on each member of the second, etc. As a result all elements of both brackets will be multiplied among themselves.

2. If before you three expressions in brackets, at first multiply the first two, leaving the third expression not touched. Having simplified the result which turned out as a result of transformation of the first brackets multiply it with the third expression.

3. You watch closely observance of signs before multipliers monomials. If you multiply two members with one sign (for example, both are positive or both are negative), the monomial will be with the sign "+". If one member has before himself "-", do not forget to transfer him to the work.

4. Lead all monomials to a standard look. That is rearrange in places multipliers inside and simplify. For example, expression of the 2nd * (3.5kh) will be equal (2*3.5) *х*х =7х^2.

5. When all monomials are standardized, try to simplify a polynomial. For this purpose group members at whom a part with variables, for example, (the 2nd +5kh-6kh)+ is identical (1-2). Having simplified expression, you receive x-1.

6. Pay attention to presence of parameters in expression. Sometimes simplification of a polynomial needs to be made so as if parameter is number.

7. To transform the expression containing a root to a polynomial remove under it such expression which will be squared. For example, use formula a^2+2ab+b^2 = (and +b) ^2, then remove the sign of a root together with even degree. If it is impossible to get rid of the sign of a root, it will not be possible to transform expression to a polynomial of a standard look.
