It is precisely possible to tell that both of these alcoholic drink very ancient, they appeared even at the time of existence of ancient civilizations.

Beer history

Beer is called one of the most ancient drinks in the world, according to many scientists, it is older product, than wine. Presumably, history of this frothy beverage began during era of the early Neolithic, that is in times when the person began to grow up grain crops. Researchers assume that cereals began to cultivate not for bread making, and for preparation of beer – the nutritious, tasty and refreshing drink. Thus, it is considered that beer arose in the 9500th year B.C., but it doesn't have exact confirmations.

It is precisely known that in 3500-3100 B.C. beer already existed: archeologists found its remains in the ancient Sumer city. Approximately in the same time frothy beverage was cooked in Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia if to judge by the remained written sources. The Ancient Greek historian Xenophon wrote in the works that in villages of Ancient Armenia stored "barley wine", strong, but very pleasant drink which scientists consider nothing else as beer. Cooked beer and in Ancient China, using for this purpose the sprouted rice. Drink became popular around the world, for its preparation the rye, oats, wheat, barley were used.

History of wine

In the Neolithic era the people along with cultivation of cereals studied also art of cultivation of grapes therefore wine can argue with beer for a rank of the oldest drink. Many researchers claim that it was simpler to ancient people to open winemaking secrets, wine from juice turns out by itself, by means of the berries of substances which are contained on a surface whereas beer needs to be cooked specially in the certain way. Nevertheless, so far the most ancient wine as archeologists found out, was made in Ancient China about 9 thousand years ago of rice. A millennium later this drink was well-known in Asia Minor from where it got to the Mediterranean. In 2000 B.C. wine was cooked in Egypt, in Greece, in the territory of Palestine and Israel. There were legends and myths connected with winemaking, and in many cultures and religions separate deities were responsible for production of wine. Both drinks are known almost as much how many there is history of the modern person. Perhaps, scientists will receive over time more exact information about what drink appeared earlier – beer or wine. But hardly we sometime learn who was the first person who thought up the recipe of beer or made wine.
