What is a stem cell

Stem cells are a special type of cages which are capable not only to self-updating, but also to differentiation in various cages of an organism. They represent a class of unripe cages.

To understand from where stem cells undertake, it is necessary to remember development of an organism. After fertilization there is a zygote – the only cage which then gives rise to all organism. Its further divisions form the cages containing all genetic material and information on the subsequent cellular divisions. It is also stem cells.

In the adult, the created organism, stem cells remain only in marrow and in a small amount in various bodies.

These cages are capable to restore practically any damaged site of body or fabric, being differentiated in the necessary cages and being, thus, the emergency help of an organism. However because it is initially a little these cages, and with age their quantity gradually decreases, the organism is not always capable to restoration with their help. The modern medicine found a possibility of pushing of a differentiation of stem cells in the necessary direction and thanks to it cure of the person. Thanks to ample opportunities of stem cells, there are all new methods of treatment with their help based on a possibility of change of these cages in an alien organism. Ways of disposal of the person of, apparently, incurable diseases are developed. However in connection with small study of change of these cages in other organisms, it is difficult to speak about real opportunities of similar implants now. Besides, in process of development of this direction ways of scientists are followed by more and more difficulties in the form of unexpected side effects. Despite all this, it is impossible to underestimate a possibility of stem cells which by right are a basis of each organism. And, perhaps, in the near future of the statement that to grow up new teeth or body really will not be called in question.
