The result of visual perception when there is a certain sort a picture emerging consciously or even unconsciously and uncontrolledly is considered illusory deception or optical illusion.

1. In real life of people rather often faces optical deception. Being mistaken in something seen, people say: It "seemed". And whether it seemed? Often seen the person perceives as the brain, but not optic nerves wishes it. Some data registered in memory, images, patches of light emerge. And, apparently, what sees what wants to see. Or, on the contrary, the person sees only what he has to see, according to someone, but does not notice the most elementary things. These manifestations are called deception of perception or illusion.
2. Optical illusion is defects and errors of perception of human sight, optical illusion. Any and inexact or unconscious some processes can be a reason for illusory images. Here the physiological isolated and specific features of a human eye are used and also often the organism uses psychological features of feeling of reality and visualization of images. Such optical illusion is a usual distortion of perception of reality by wrong assessment of different figures, corners, forms, pieces. There is even an inaccuracy of perception of color scale.
3. The illusory feeling leads to incorrect quantitative and quality standards of actual sizes. Perception of the sizes at an eye estimation can deviate real for 20-25% on average, and at times more. It turns out that the eye estimation of the person depends on the nature of the image and its background. Often absolutely direct geometrical figures seem curved or curve.
4. A lot of things depend on the angle of visual perception. The same image under a different point of view is perceived differently. These illusory perceptions are called shifters. And three-dimensional couples give the stereoimage, doing the drawing volume. It is optical optical illusion too. There are images seeming to a human look moving (turn, flow, blink, move). These are periodic images. The long view of such images results in effect of movement. And the optical deception called the phosphene phenomenon forces to appear before eyes various points or figures.
5. Often optical illusion is fixed on a photo. There are moments when photographers manage to catch them and to imprint. Sometimes it occurs accidentally, and the double sense is caught only then, by consideration of photos. Such photos give a lot of joy and laughter.
6. It is not necessary to perceive visual illusions as sight freaks of nature. Many began to use this imperfection of human sight for the good. Optical deception – the assistant to artists, designers, photomasters, operators, architects. Many works of art are based on harmonious use of such "shortcoming". For example, exactly thanks to a play of colors and visual perception of different forms, it is possible to expand visually space of the small room, and to present the low building as monumental and huge.
