Scientists and predictors in eager rivalry speculate about when on Earth there is almost inevitable event – global disaster which will destroy the most part of the population of the planet, having made many lands unsuitable for life.
There is a huge number of versions and assumptions from where to inhabitants of Earth to wait for a trouble and when there is this event terrifying on the force. It appears, global disaster can occur absolutely suddenly and soon, and can pave the way gradual changes and is unexpected change all life of mankind. Anyway, according to scientists, long it is not necessary to wait: for the next 10-15 years to people the most various forecasts are prepared.
Threat from the sky
Researches of astronomers, geographers, seismologists and other scientists dazzle with statements that the planet in the next decade is waited by a trouble. Nearly an every year Earth risks to face celestial bodies – asteroids. The biggest danger among them is constituted by Apofis – an asteroid which to Earth threatens to meet in 2035.
So far it is difficult to predict what changes will be caused by such collision, but preliminary forecasts show: The earth is threatened by climate change on all planet. When falling on the earth all celestial bodies over 100 meters in the diameter are considered as potentially dangerous. Apofis has in the diameter about a kilometer, and its collision with our planet will cause not only instant death of millions of people, but huge breaks in earth crust, the earthquakes, floods enormous to a tsunami. The dust column for a long time will close light of the sun from its falling, having shipped everything in darkness. After such event still many people, plants and animals will die, economies of all countries will fail, and survived it is necessary to restore long life on Earth.
Warming or new Ice Age?
Big troubles are prepared also by gradual change of climate. According to scientists because of global warming ices of the Arctic completely will thaw in the next several years that will increase global sea level and will cause flooding of many regions of the planet whose lands are in lowlands near the seas. Thawing of glaciers will provoke huge tsunami and change of a landscape on all planet. Other scientists, on the contrary, say that Europe and Africa are threatened by new Ice Age. It is connected with change of the movement of the warm Gulf Stream Current warming Europe the long millennia. Gulf Stream according to them changes the direction, already today having deviated from the former course more than on 800 kilometers. The warm current goes to the regions of Canada and does not reach Europe, snow and cold winters of the European countries and unnaturally warm winter weather in Canada are explained by it. If this trend proceeds, then soon Gulf Stream will melt ice of Greenland, then North America will be washed away literally from a face of the earth by constant floods and a tsunami, and Europe will die from cold in 40-degree frosts.
Supervolcano
One more discussed subject is the activity of a supervolcano in Yellowstone National Park in the USA. The park occupies the space more than 8.9 thousand square kilometers and is well-known not only the amazing nature, but also the geysers and thermal sources. In the center of this park the most powerful is located a supervolcano with a muzzle from 55 to 75 kilometers for today. Its activity is shown each 400 thousand years, and already about 400 thousand years the volcano is silent. And it means only one: its eruption can begin at any time. Some researchers determined start date of eruption for 2016, assure some researches that the activity of a volcano will begin within the next 40 years, but many American scientists do not hurry to lift panic and claim that eruption does not threaten the planet of 20-40 thousand more years. But if it happens to the population of the USA in the nearest future and all inhabitants of the planet are threatened by global disaster of such scales what the mankind did not see yet. The next 300-500 kilometers from Yellowstone will be filled in with the melted lava. Units will manage to escape from this zone. Hot gases and ashes will hit into air many days, filling the atmosphere of the planet with dust and ashes. The column of volcanic eruptions will be so big that for many months will close the sun. Air traffic between the countries and continents will stop, ashes will fill up the territory of the USA, having made the earth unsuitable for plants and animals. Many views of the living world will die, the mankind should cope with an economic crisis of unknown scales. And it already apart from the huge human victims at the first moments of action of a supervolcano. Whatever accident happened on Earth, people should face global changes in their lives.
