The history of the USA is much shorter, than at the majority of the European and Asian countries. However it all the same contains the interesting and fascinating pages showing specifics of this country and society.

1. The first people in the territory of the present United States appeared about 30000 years ago. Presumably, they got on the continent through the Bering Strait. This population subsequently called the American Indians developed independently prior to the beginning of an era of Great geographical discoveries. Unlike natives of South America, inhabitants of the northern continent did not create large civilizations, keeping a communal and patrimonial system before arrival of Europeans, and in some cases later.
2. Discovery of America for Europeans happened at the end of the 15th century, however long time visits on the territory of the modern USA were only short-term. The first constant English settlement was founded on these lands only in 1607. Several powers soon began to apply for the American continent at once - the Spanish settlements were located in the south, French - on South and the northeast, English - on the coast of Atlantic. However long time was possible to avoid the conflicts because of territory size. The English colonists consisted mostly of puritans - followers of the strict Protestant doctrine.
3. Formation of the independent American state took place in 1776. This year the colonies made the decision on separation from the British Empire. However the office was not peace - it ended with the war of independence which won against the United States. And after declaration of the free USA the formation of America as the states was not finished.
4. In the 19th century the development of the western lands continued, Alaska and Louisiana was acquired, as a result of war with Mexico the southern borders were expanded. During civil war the modern political management system of the USA which is based on rule of federal laws taking into account rather wide autonomy of each state was formed. Only by the beginning of the 20th age of the USA became the state in the modern borders.
