Classification of pumps by the principle of action

The pump is the hydraulic machine which will transform mechanical energy of the engine to other energy already of a liquid stream. Ordinary such device serves for movement and creation of a pressure in a stream of liquid of any kind and also liquid mix with more solid substances or liquefied gases. But what the types of pumps based on a certain principle of action exist?

Volume pumps

This type of classification of cars of this sort is ordinary used for pumping of more viscous liquids. The principle of operation of the volume pump is based on transformation of energy of the engine to energy of liquid. Ordinary they are a little unbalanced and possess high vibration therefore are established on the massive bases.

There are several subtypes of similar devices:

- the impeller pumps which are also used as batchers; - lamellar which provide quite uniform absorption of a product. Similar pumps due to changes in volume of the working camera as a result of the eccentricity of the rotor and the stator work; - screw; - piston in which quite high pressure can be created. Such pumps are not suitable for work with abrasive liquids; - the peristaltic pumps having properties of chemical inertia and low pressure; - membrane; - the impeller or lamellar pumps most often used in the food industry.

The recurrence of working process, tightness, ability of self-absorption and independence of pressure belong to the properties, general for all these subtypes.

Dynamic type of pumps

The similar type of the equipment is subdivided into three categories: bladed (function at the expense of a bladed wheel or the melkozakhodny screw); jet devices (carry out fluid supply due to the energy received from a stream of auxiliary liquid, steam or even gas) and also pumps rams which also call pumps hydrorams (the principle of their action is based on water hammer which provokes liquid forcing). In turn, the first type of pumps – bladed – is divided into two various, based on the principle of action, a subtype: the centrifugal devices transforming mechanical energy drives to potential energy of a stream of liquid, and the vortex, being separate and a little widespread type devices working due to vortex formation in the working channel of the car. Also the subtype of centrifugal pumps is in more detail subdivided. On: - centrifugal shnekovye pumps in which the liquid supply to working body happens in the form of the melkozakhodny screw to disks of large diameter; - the console, based on the principle of a unilateral supply liquids to the driving wheel; - axial (the second the name - propeller) in which fluid supply happens at the expense of a bladed wheel of propeller type; - semi-axial pumps which are also called diagonal and turbine; - radial devices with radial driving wheels.
