Flexible hours - imaginary freedom

Flexible hours - imaginary freedom

Well, which of us did not dream that the working day began not in the 8 or 9 mornings, and, say, at half past ten or even after a lunch? The modern rhythm of work practically does not leave time for the solution of the personal records. Hardly you, say, will be able to visit the doctor or to go for a holiday to kindergarten to the child if you finish work not earlier, than at 18:00. Here also should dream most of us of such "mysterious" phenomenon as the free schedule.

Freedom – to whom it is necessary?

Alas, in the Post-Soviet countries the general trend such is that the free schedule of work belongs to the category something unrealizable and unreal. Actually, scientific and technical achievements in the form of phones, home PCs, the Internet allow to cope quite effectively with the duties at any time and in any place.

There is a number of experts for whom a strict normalization of working hours – worse than bitter radish. It is about creative professions – the journalist, the copywriter, the designer and also about programmers, insurance agents, etc. Besides, young mothers and students, as a rule, need the free schedule. Well, it is far simpler, say, to allow mummy of the three-year-old tot to come to work later, than to constantly suffer its delay.

And there is nothing to say about creative people: the muse does not visit them according to the schedule. It is simpler to someone to pore over the project, since 6 in the morning, and someone most productively works at night.

Thus, pluses of the free schedule, as they say, on the person. It is an opportunity to increase efficiency of work what also employers, and, naturally, workers benefit from.

Minuses of a free operating schedule

Many of us present such here schedule in the form of a formula "I want – I work, I do not want – I do not work". This enormous delusion. Ask any in the slightest degree the successful freelancer what duration of his working day. In reply you will hear – 10, 14, and even 16 hours a day. Thus, we draw a conclusion that the free schedule does not assume the smaller number of work at all. To idlers here not the place!

Further. You think that, having passed to flexible hours, you will be able to get up and come back to it when it is convenient to you. So and not so! The free operating schedule demands enormous self-organization. If you are regularly late for work because you cannot get up on the alarm clock, this option not for you. Having lost need to work accurately according to the plan, you risk to lose also work.

Work on flexible hours assumes certain difficulties in interaction with employees. What to do if you urgently need the project, and the employee who is carrying out it left on the personal records? Therefore, it is better to work according to the free schedule alone, having as much as possible liquidated dependence on anyone.

And the last. Whatever advantages the free schedule had, unfortunately, our employers seldom agree to such option. At us still "good form" the prosizhivaniye at office since early morning and until late at night is considered. Alas, the fact that carried out at work efficiency of work directly does not depend on a number of hours interests domestic heads a little.

But exceptions are. So, remember! That to you allowed to work at any time convenient for you, it will be required to prove still that you are people, the inclined to self-organization, having exclusive level of responsibility before others, not lazy and honest. Agree, such there is a lot of, but not so there is a lot of. You among them? Then success in "free" flight!
