Path of the true scientists – not only a continuous research, but also need to defend the theories before critics. From promotion of a hypothesis before its recognition by scientific community the thorny road sometimes terminating tragically lies.
The scientific heritage of the notorious medieval scientist Giordano Bruno is shrouded in mystery. It is known that he worked in many fields of science, philosophy and religion, wrote several treatises where called in question the canonized Christian truth. Throughout all the life of Bruno tried to prove the indisputable truth for what it was misunderstood, we drive, it is forced to wander, and spent the last years before an execution in imprisonment. What did the Catholic church so punish the monk for?
The first steps in science
Bruno spent several years at a French court, training the king Henry III in the theories.
Filippo Bruno at the age of 11 years was sent by the father to the Neapolitan school for studying disciplines classical at that time: literatures, dialectics, logic. Continuing a way, traditional for the time, in 1565 the young man becomes a novice in the monastery of the Saint Dominica and receives a name of Giordano. In the monastery he goes deep into studying science, opens for itself(himself) mathematics and philosophy, reflects on theories of the structure of the Universe and the place of God and person in it. In young years he criticizes the major Catholic doctrines, such as Maria's chastity and voluntary acceptance of an execution by Jesus. The behavior of the monk was extremely impudent and risky therefore Bruno, having learned that the management of the monastery began investigation of his views and classes, ran from native walls.
Giordano Bruno's philosophy

Wandering across Europe in search of a shelter, Bruno continued the scientific activity. Based on the heliocentric system of Nicolaus Copernicus and continuing philosophy of Neoplatonism, Giordano Bruno comes to a conclusion about infinity of the Universe consisting of far galaxies, in the center of each of which there is "the Sun". He considered the Universe basis the "world soul" uniform for all worlds. Thus Bruno disproves Christian division material (terrestrial) and divine (heavenly) the worlds, approving God not only the creator of the nature, but also the nature. Uniform divine soul, he considered, lives in each person and each natural phenomenon that in fact equals the person good luck.
Execution of a sentence
The free views which extended in Renaissance were inadmissible in the Middle Ages. In 1591 on a denunciation of Giovanni Mochegino whom Giordano trained in memory art the Venetian inquisition brings charge to the scientist and imprisons him. Several painful years which Giordano spent in church prisons later the Roman church takes out final charge to "heretic" Bruno, separates it from church and transfers to hands of temporal power with a sentence "to punish without shedding of blood" that means an execution on a fire. In 1600 Giordano Bruno, without having refused the views, it was burned alive at the Roman Tsvetov Square.
