How to calculate heatlosses

How to calculate heatlosses

A significant amount of heat leaves the room through a roof and the unreliable, warmed by nothing walls. A lot of precious heat loses the house through windows. Significant heatlosses fall on ventilation. Also warmly goes to the earth. How to calculate all heatlosses of the building?

It is required to you

  • - paper;
  • - handle;
  • - calculator.

Instruction

1. Attentively study a formula by which heatlosses in the dwelling are calculated: RT=dT/q

2. Study indicators, necessary for calculations. Each square meter of the protecting surfaces loses a certain amount of heat, this indicator is designated by a symbol q. The lost amount of heat is measured in watts on square meter (W/sq.m). Enclosing structures are capable to keep heat and to prevent its leak. Heat-shielding properties of these designs are measured by the size which is called heat transfer resistance. This size will show you how many heat is lost through each square meter of an enclosing structure, when accounting a temperature difference. That is change of a temperature difference which will arise during passing of a certain amount of heat through each square meter of protections.

3. Calculate a difference between temperature on the street and in the room. This indicator is designated by a separate dT symbol too and measured in degrees Celsius. Also, one more indicator designated by RT symbol is indoors necessary for calculation of heatloss, it designates thermal resistance. The surface protecting inhabited volume is capable to prevent leakage of heat outside. Resistance to a heat transfer designated by a symbol of RT will show as far as it is possible. The value of thermal resistance differs for each material of which the protection, depending on thickness of the protecting surface is made.
