To consider stars – it is useless or it is romantic? In dark night in the sky there are a lot of stars that, apparently, it is impossible to count them. Since ancient times these small bright sparks draw attention of scientists, children and lovers, and everyone thinks how many them in the sky. In spite of the fact that the modern science already studied everything, you can try to count all stars.
It is required to you
- - field-glass;
- - camera;
- - star chart.
Instruction
1. First of all choose moonless clear night, such that in the sky there was no cloudlet also. At the same time best of all is near the equator therefore take a vacation and go to some country located near a zero meridian, for example, to Kenya, Congo, Angola, Indonesia, Brazil or Colombia. It is absolutely impossible to consider stars alone therefore take the nice girl or the young man.
2. Having chosen dark moonless night, settle more conveniently because you should work till the morning and even if you will hurry very much, perhaps, you will not manage to count all stars. Nevertheless, do not lose hope and start. Begin with East side of the sky that the rising sun lit already counted part of the sky. Write down intermediate results of calculations not to lose count. Use the field-glass to see even more stars.
3. If you want to count stars quicker, choose the site of the sky with an average brightness and close it a fist of an outstretched arm. Remember position of a hand and take away it. Then count stars in the chosen site (closed by a fist). Most likely, stars will be around ten - twenty. Increase this number by 200 as the one two-hundredth part of the heavenly sphere is (approximately) closed by a fist of an outstretched arm.
4. To consider stars with comfort (after all at night on the street it can be cool), take the good camera and photograph the star sky. Other option: print out the star chart from the Internet. Then you sit down and begin to consider. Cross out the counted stars not to get confused. Also it will be very useful to write down and put intermediate results.
5. At once prepare that it will not be possible to count all stars, at least a half of them is hidden behind the horizon, and evaporations and fog near the Earth's surface can hide many stars even of our hemisphere. Even more the fact that stars, as well as people, constantly are born complicates a situation and die, and their quantity changes every minute.
