Cubic meters (m³) are standard system unit of measure of volume. Therefore results of many measurements and calculations often are required to be presented in cubic meters. If initial information is set in related stand-alone units of measure (liters, cubic centimeters, etc.), then it is possible to count cubic meters. However, if other physical quantities (weight, the area, length) are known, then dopolniteny information is required.

1. To count the number of cubic meters, soderzhashchisya in the volume set in other units of measure increase this number by sootvetstvuyuy coefficient. So, for example, if volume is set in liters, then for transfer to cubic meters increase the number of liters by 0.001, i.e. use a formula: Km³ = C * 0.001, where Km³ - the number of cubic meters, C – the number of liters.

2. The similar formula can use if initial volume is set in decimeters of cubic (dm³). Km³ = Kdm³ * 0.001, where Kdm³ - the number of cubic decimeters.

3. If initial volume is set in centimeters (cm³) or millimeters of cubic (mm³), then for calculation of cubic meters use the following formulas: Km³ = Ksm³ * 0.000001 Km³ = Kmm³ * 0.000000001, where Ksm³ and Kmm³ - the number of cubic centimeters and millimeters, respectively.

4. If weight is known, then for calculation of cubic meters (volume) specify substance density. It can be found in ssotvetstvuyushchy tables of density of substances or to measure independently. To count the number of cubic meters, divide body weight (in kilograms) into its density (in kg/m³). That is use the following formula: Km³ = M / P, where, M – body weight (in kg), P – density (in kg/m³). P – density (in kg/m³).

5. If the subject represents a simple volume figure and some of its parameters are known, then for calculation of volume use the corresponding geometrical formulas. So, for example, if the body represents rectangular parallepiped, then its volume can be counted on the following formula: Km³ = D * Highway * In, where: D, Highway and In – length, width and height (thickness) of a parallelepiped, respectively. Units of measure of length, width and height have to be set in meters (linear).

6. Example. The room has height of ceilings – 2.5 meters, length – 10 meters and width – 8 meters. It is required to determine the volume (number of cubic meters) of the room. Decision. Km³ = 2.5 * 10 * 8 = 200 cubic meters.
