Quite often instructions according to which it is required to measure exactly 100 grams of any given substance occur in culinary recipes and in descriptions chemical experiments. It is possible to carry out this operation in different ways.
Instruction
1. If mechanical scales are used, in the beginning put on them empty ware. They will show its weight. Then establish by the special regulator called the container compensator an arrow on zero division. Now scales will automatically subtract container weight from total weight that will lead to display on a weight scale only of vessel contents. Then fill or pour substance in a vessel until the arrow of scales shows exactly 100 grams. If you accidentally poured or filled more, pour or pour a part of substance back into original packing (except for cases when such actions contradict standards of safety). Then remove a vessel with substance from scales, and set their arrow the container compensator back to zero. Do not do it if right after operation implementation you are going to take some more measurements with use same or a container, similar on weight.
2. On electronic scales carry out measurement the same way, only instead of rotation of the regulator use two buttons on one of which there are two arrows turned to figure 0, and on another - two same arrows turned to letter T. At absence on the platform of scales something press the first button, and then, having installed an empty vessel - the second. After that carry out filling of a vessel until scales do not show 100 grams.
3. In case the container compensator at scales is absent, in the beginning weigh a vessel separately. Remember or write down its weight. Then fill a vessel until the result is not equal to the sum of hundred grams and vessel weight.
4. If scales with two cups and without scale are used, arrive as follows. Take two identical empty vessels. Put one of them on one scale, another - on another. Counterbalance scales with the regulator. Then on one bowl, without removing from it an empty vessel, install also the weight weighing 100 grams. Fill the vessel located on an opposite bowl until scales are not counterbalanced.
