The noun is a separate part of speech of Russian. The forms of number and a case classifying categories of a sort and also animateness and inanimateness depending on the designated objects are inherent in it.

1. Present several options of the same noun: "house", to "house", "house". How to define its initial form (or a dictionary form)? An initial form of a noun is the Nominative case form. This case designates the concept expressed by a word. Most often nouns in this case serve as a subject in the offer, is more rare - a predicate. The Nominative case answers questions: "who?", "that?" For example: "Hours hang on a wall" (here the noun will have "hours" the initial form only in plural). Or: "In these hours the sky usually such light" (the initial form of a noun will have "hours" an appearance "hour").

5. Take into consideration that unchangeable nouns of a foreign origin: "coats", "madam", "chimpanzee", "cinema", etc. - in all the forms sound equally.
