How to define distance to stars

How to define distance to stars

The infinity of space, hundreds of billions of stars always were, is and will be an object of constant attention of the person. Many ingenious minds of different generations solved decades space riddles. And thanks to them it is possible to answer now those questions which did not give in earlier to a reasonable explanation and the decision in any way.

Instruction

1. Of course, it is very difficult to measure distance to the next star with a big accuracy. However approximately, even without the aid of special means, it is possible to make such calculation, thanks to the accumulated knowledge, new methods and special numerical units.

2. For convenient designation of numerical these distances use special unit - "light year". It designates distance which the ray of light in one year with a speed of equal 300.000 kilometers per second is capable to pass.

3. Choose a method of finding of distance to the next stars. The simplest and clear is a method of "Parallax". The basis of this method includes location of a star concerning Earth and more remote stars. The essence of this method consists in measurements of visible shifts of the next stars rather farther. "Parallax" is the corner formed by two most remote provisions of a star concerning Earth. "Parallax of a star" is equal to a half of an angle of "Parallax". The value of "Parallax" even of the closest stars never exceeds "1""".

4. Knowing value of "Parallax" which always no more than "1""", express this value through "parsec" (personal computer) – the value expressing distance to a star at "Parallax" equal "1""".

5. Transfer size (personal computer) to units of light year: 1 personal computers of =3.26 St. years of =30.839.6 billion km

6. Smallest "Parallax" is equal to "0.01""", the most distant star which is giving in to the decision by this method.

7. Transfer "Parallax" to (personal computer). "0.01" will turn out"" = 100 personal computers

8. 100 personal computers = 326 St. years = 3083.9.6 billion km

9. The method of "Parallax" is the main method when calculating distances to the next stars, about several thousand. For calculation of distance to distant stars, this method does not approach, because of impossibility of definition of "Parallax".
