Time of braking is inseparably linked with such concept as "a brake way", that is the distance overcome by the vehicle from the moment of operation of the brake system to its full stop.
Instruction
1. Directly time is considered time of braking from the moment of detection by the driver of an obstacle and pressing a brake pedal to a full stop of the vehicle. It includes time of reaction of the driver, time of the beginning of operation of the brake system and time of direct braking. For its calculation use a formula: t = V02: a where V0– initial speed in m/s and and – acceleration.
2. Time and extent of a brake way depends on many factors, the most important of which are speed, a condition of tires, the carriageway, the mass of the vehicle and weather conditions. The efficiency of the brake system has not less impact on process of braking.
3. The maximum brake force depends on load of wheels and on their coupling with the road. To bigger loading there corresponds big brake force. Sign of completely blocked wheel is the so-called skid when as a result of sharp braking about the surface of the dry road some one site of the tire rubs. As a result of it the rubber katysh accelerating the movement of a wheel as bearings are formed. At such braking the characteristic peep sounds, there are difficulties with management, and the car begins to leave aside.
4. Coupling directly depends also on a condition of the road and wear of a wheel. So, in comparison with dry asphalt the coupling on wet decreases twice, and during ice – by 10 times. Considerable reduction of brake force leads to increase in a brake way and, respectively, time to a stop. As a rule, along with the beginning of a skid the drift of back wheels begins. It is possible to correct this situation by means of a steering wheel. For alignment of the car release a pedal of a brake and bring the car to a clean section of the route or as a last resort, aside from it. Only what it is necessary to acquire - all this should be made in seconds and even shares of seconds.
