How to find weight if the volume and density are known

The mass of any body is its major physical characteristic. In modern physical science there is a differentiation of the concept ""weight"": gravitational weight (as extent of impact of a body on terrestrial gravitation) and inert weight (what effort will be required to bring a body out of a condition of inertia). To anyway find weight very easily if density and volume of a body are known.

Instruction

1. In case at a body such indicators as its volume (V) and density (p) are known, then for calculation masses of a body it will be required to use a formula: m = p*V.

2. For descriptive reasons it is possible to give an example. It is required to find the mass of a concrete slab whose volume is 15 m³.Решение: for finding of mass of a concrete slab it is required to know only its density. To find this information, it is necessary to use the table of density of various substances.

3. According to this table density of concrete is 2300 kg/m³. Then to find the mass of a concrete slab, it will be required to make simple algebraic action: m = 15*2300 = 34500 kg, or 34.5 tons. Answer: the mass of a concrete slab is 34.5 tons

4. Measurement of weight happens in the traditional way by means of one of the most ancient devices of mankind - by means of scales. It occurs thanks to comparison of body weight by means of the reference mass of cargo - weights.
