Generally, almost so, except for such trifle as the place. It has to be chosen in advance and with a high probability of hit of a lightning. The endurance on cameras has to be not less than thirty seconds and precautionary measures it is important to observe.

What is usually done by the professional photographer to photograph a lightning? It is correct as well as scientists, addresses statistics. To collect information on where most often there are thunderstorms and storms, not so difficult. It is similarly possible to establish also objects in which the lightning most often strikes. The fact is that lightnings hit into quite certain objects with enviable constancy. It is connected with arrangement of an object, existence of the lightning rod and also is rather frequent with proximity of underground waters. Thus, event probability considerably increases. Though the nature, as we know, does not give any guarantees. Whether so there is an opportunity to predict lightning discharge? A certain probability exists. As it was already told, most often the lightning strikes in the high objects, in particular, equipped with effective lightning rods. The reason for that is obvious. Existence of the lightning rod allows in a certain way, to ordered positive charges of a thundercloud to be discharged on the negative electrode formed by grounding of the lightning rod. Probability of the predicted category can reach 30–40% provided that during the forthcoming thunderstorm thunderclouds with a positive charge are formed. However if completely to trust statistics, then positively charged clouds give the most powerful category and pose a serious threat as the fires most often arise from blow of a positive lightning. The same picture is observed also at wildfires. However, at collision differently of the loaded thunderclouds absolutely unpredictable show sometimes is observed.
