If aquarian soil consists of coarse-grained sand and river pebble, then water in an aquarium will constantly have a certain rigidity. In aquariums in which contain fishes and mollusks the rigidity decreases because of consumption of calcium mollusks on creation of sinks over time. Therefore it needs to be raised periodically.
It is required to you
- - carbonate breeds;
- - 10% CaCl2 and MgS04 solutions;
- - 25% magnesia solution;
- - the distilled, rain or melt water.
Instruction
1. To increase hardness of water, boil it in the enameled ware within one hour. Drain accurately two thirds of a part of water which remained, enriched with calcium, gradually a squirt pour in an aquarium.
2. Prepare or buy 10% solution of chloride of calcium (CaCl2) and 10% solution of sulfate of magnesium (MgS04) in pharmacy. To increase hardness of water on 1 °dGH bring 18.3 ml of 10% chloride of calcium (CaCl2) or 19.7 ml of 10% solution of sulfate of magnesium (MgS04) on 100 l of water. For maintenance by fishes and plants of a necessary ratio of ions add these solutions approximately in identical quantities.
3. For increase in carbonate rigidity put in aquarian water carbonate breeds (dolomite, chalk, marble, etc.) or miss it through a marble crumb. But you remember that dissolution of carbonate breeds in water is possible only in the presence of carbon dioxide: SaSO3 + CO2 + H2O-> Sa (HCO3)2 for this purpose add sparkling water to water or for saturation of CO2 water use the special device.
4. To increase carbonate rigidity on 1 ° dKH dissolve in 100 ml 1.5 g of MgCO3 (magnesium carbonate) ili1.8 SaSO3 (calcium carbonate). But better use both salts in equal parts. Add to aquarian water 25% solution of magnesia at the rate of 1 ml on 1 l of water - so you will increase hardness of water on 4H °.
5. Mix the otstoyanny water and distilled water. If hardness of water from under the crane - 10 N °, then mix 7 parts distilled waters with 3 parts of tap water to receive aquarian water rigidity of 3 N °.
6. In case of lack of the distilled water in the cities and villages with low gas contamination of air replace it rain or thawed which rigidity is 2-3 N °.
7. Put on a bottom of an aquarium of a sink of rapan or a coral crumb. Previously within an hour boil down them. Change from the total amount of 10-15% of water once a week, do not overpopulate an aquarium, and hardness of water will not be a constant.
