How to learn to act publicly?

Public statements cause confusion and confusion in many people. And such prospect so frightens some that they flatly refuse to appear before large audience. But if you as obliges or still nevertheless have to do to some reasons it, then it is better to learn to be self-controlled and to overcome the fears and uncertainty. And it will not demand from you great efforts, the main thing - is correct to direct them. And what is usually done before a performance those who very much worry?

Learn to speak beautifully and competently …

They rehearse the speech in front of the mirror or friends, watch a timbre of a voice and diction and edit the text to make it it is even better. And it always helps. But, unfortunately, does not save finally from nervousness and fear to tell something is not right. These unpleasant experiences sometimes remain long time, and at someone do not take place even with experience.

… but the ability to speak - is not enough

There are receptions which help many people to feel more comfortably during the performance. Try to change also you with their help the attitude to it.

Before a performance:

Make the plan and make short marks to it. Do not write down the speech word for word. Present that you lost a thought and you look for the right place in records. It is much simpler to find the lost narration thread in the plan, than in the continuous text.

Start up the plan will be rather detailed. Note in it as you will greet listeners as you will tell them about the purpose of the performance what you will speak at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the speech about. Include the main theses, the main ideas in each point.

Add amusing or life stories. Telling of stories which confirm your words will make a performance interesting and fascinating. Even the dry report can be diluted with some facts, examples, appeals to everyday life.

Do not abuse terms even if the audience is educated and well informed in a performance subject. Try to speak an available and living language, add a little humour to the words. The harmless joke told to the place or a joke will remove stress and will recover your monologue.

During the performance:

Present that you do not act, and just once again you rehearse. Sigh several times, calming down, remember initial phrases, the main theses and - step to public. Let your listeners as though be present at another training of your performance. Let it will be kind of not present. And therefore you can improvise, add on the run something to the speech or change it. This reception very much helps many timid speakers.

You look at listeners. You do not look all the time for the records. Raise eyes, address public, you speak with it. Then your speech will be perceived much easier, the audience will listen carefully more and favourably.

If it is difficult for you to look to people in the face, choose among listeners of the most friendly - those who smile in response to your words or, agreeing, nods, shows the approval and support. Now you speak only for them. And you will look surer and quieter.

After the performance:

Never criticize yourself. Even if you made a mistake, acted not ideally - praise yourself. You managed to win against uncertainty, left to audience and spoke before it. Tell yourself: "Next time at me it will turn out even better. I will be even more convincing and more interesting".

The main thing is not to refuse performances. You can become the good speaker and surely will become if you leave to listeners and to communicate with them during the speech. The fear and uncertainty will recede, and your performances will become free, live and fascinating.
