At execution of production and educational drawings the rules established by state standard specification ESKD have to be respected. There are several international standards on an admissible format of drawings. The drawing is surely carried out in a special frame. All accompanying information on the drawing is specified by strictly certain font. Content and the size of inscriptions is also regulated. Drawings can be located on sheets, both in vertical, and in horizontal position. During creation of the drawing the format of a leaf and tools is used the established look.

- GOST ESKD 2.109-73, 2.304-81 and 2.316-68, pencils with a firm and tverdomyagky slate pencil, the dense sheet of paper of the necessary format.
Instruction
1. According to GOST 2.109-73 any drawings can be carried out on sheets of the following formats: A1, A2, A3, A4. The smallest format with sizes of 210 x 297 mm is called also album. The leaf of A1 format or a Whatman paper makes 841 x 1189 mm. All constructions and inscriptions at execution of the drawing are carried out manually by a firm or tverdomyagky pencil. On production special cars are for this purpose used.
2. First of all, take the necessary sheet of paper and execute the limiting drawing frame. For this purpose draw a continuous main line, having receded from the sheet edge on the right, from below and from above on 5 mm, and at the left – 20 mm.
3. Execute a frame for the main inscription on the drawing. The frame of the main inscription is always placed in the right bottom corner of a leaf according to state standard specification 2.316-68. At the same time for production drawings the sheet A4 according to the standard has to be located only in vertical position. For other formats there is no such restriction. In educational process the exception for A4 format becomes - it is allowed to carry out a frame at any provision of a leaf. Execute the main inscription on a leaf in the form of a rectangle by the sizes established in GOST.
4. For execution of the drawing it is necessary to know data on the represented product: appointment, name and main characteristics. Apply on the drawing all necessary inscriptions according to GOST ESKD 2.304-81. Inscriptions are carried out by a special drawing font of A or B type depending on the set conditions and the applied standard.
5. The drawing is carried out after registration of a frame and the main inscription. Arrange it in a frame on the center of the outlined zone.
