- mica;
- carbon and graphite powder;
- an asbestos tile (it is possible to replace cement or tiled);
- copper wire;
- transformer.
Instruction
1. In the form of the isolating support for the furnace use couple of ordinary bricks. On them install the metal enameled pallet with boards. Further fasten asbestos or a tile with shamotny solution. This framework for the best coupling is wound with a copper wire and put on a pallet.
2. The inside layer of walls gives all the best from mica. Because of lamination it approaches as the heat-insulating material. On each side carbon and graphite electrodes are established. As the last the electromotor brushes having flexible conducting wire will approach.
3. Between working electrodes graphite powder which can be received from old cores is filled up, having applied a file and a hacksaw. In operating time of the furnace, graphite is gradually poured because it burns out. The assembled furnace is connected the isolated copper wires to the transformer.
4. There are no standard sizes of the electric furnace, here everything is especially individual. They depend on the output voltage of the transformer and on the power of an electrical network. The tension at the exit is higher, the it is more than a distance between electrodes. Ohmic resistance creates intensive heating in graphite powder. Temperature in such furnaces can reach 3000 °C.
5. Before melting in coal-graphite do a hole and place an iron cup with aluminum there. Further it is necessary to wait 4-5 minutes so far the furnace will get warm, and here it is the long-awaited moment of a rasplavka.
