Products from copper can be very beautiful, and there is a temptation to make something copper with own hands. For this purpose metal needs to be melted. In foundry business mostly three main types of this metal are applied: red pure copper and its alloys: bronze and brass.

Instruction
1. Put pieces of metal in a crucible. Put a crucible in the muffle furnace. Install the heating regulator in the necessary position. It is possible to watch metal melting in a furnace window which is on a door. During melting on the surface of metal the oxide film is formed.
2. At achievement of the necessary temperature and fusion of metal open a door, take a crucible nippers. Shift an oxide film by means of a hook from a steel wire aside. Pour out fusion in the form prepared in advance. If the muffle furnace of sufficient power, with its help it is possible to melt any copper alloys and actually red copper.
3. If there is no muffle furnace, it is possible to melt copper autogenous cutting, having directed a flame from the crucible bottom up. At the same time melting will happen at good access of air. For protection of metal from intensive oxidation it is recommended to powder its surface with a layer of pounded charcoal.
4. Yellow copper (brass) and fusible types of bronze can be melted the blowtorch. The principle of melting the same, as when using autogenous cutting. The flame has to cover a crucible as much as possible.
5. If there is neither autogenous cutting, nor the blowtorch, it is possible to use a simple horn. In this case install a crucible on a charcoal layer. Apply compulsory inflation in an air burning zone to temperature increase of burning of coal. For this purpose the household vacuum cleaner working for blowing will approach. The vacuum cleaner hose surely has to have a metal tip. An opening of a tip it is possible to make narrower more squirt of air for receiving.
