- soldering iron, solder, gumboil, ethyl oxide, copper sawdust, copper vitriol, copper wire, electric battery.
Instruction
1. Before soldering smooth out a surface of the details which are subject to connection a file, an emery paper, degrease gasoline or other organic solvent. Check and prepare the soldering iron. Well and correctly warmed soldering iron shipped in powder of sal ammoniac or rosin gives an easy smoke.
2. For soldering of aluminum use the soldering iron with power not less than 100 W and solder which consists of 80% of tin, 20% of zinc (or 95% of tin and 5% of bismuth). Use gumboil from stearin or paraffin. When choosing the soldering iron consider that they can be as the simplest, demanding a warming up in an open flame, and electric including for pointed soldering (with regulation of power of heating).
3. In usual conditions aluminum hardly gives in to soldering as on its surface after cleaning the oxidic film is immediately formed. For this reason after cleaning of the accustomed to drinking surfaces at once flood the place of future connection on aluminum or its alloy with the melted rosin.
4. Gather solder on the soldering iron and transfer to the surface of future connection protected by rosin. Zaludiv in this way aluminum, you facilitate soldering. It is possible to solder to the tinned surface of aluminum without effort, say, copper wires.
5. The second way of soldering of aluminum: smooth out the surface of metal, grease it with rosin solution in ethyl oxide. Then strew aluminum with copper sawdust and you zaludit the place of soldering by usual solder from tin.
6. Use also electrochemical method of soldering of aluminum. Smooth out the place spy and apply on it several drops of the concentrated solution of copper vitriol. After that connect an aluminum detail to a negative pole of the battery, and connect a piece of the bared copper wire which enter into a vitriol solution drop to its positive pole. At the same time the end of a wire has to concern the surface of aluminum. After a while on the place of future soldering will settle a uniform layer of copper to which it is possible now in the usual way to solder practically any metal.
