Division of time for day naturally follows from living conditions of the person on our planet - this period corresponds to one turn of Earth round its pivot-center. And here division of day for hours, minutes and seconds look not so logically - it is result of stratification of the decimal systems of calculation used once long ago duodecimal and accepted today. Neither day, nor hour are time units of measure formalized in the international SI system - second is for this purpose used there.

1. Define how many seconds contain day in which it is required to translate a period in seconds. There are two definitions of day - "averages solar" and "star", and their duration differs for the whole 56 seconds. The first concept is used, for example, for calculation of a calendar difference between two temporary points, and the second except rotation of Earth considers also the movement of the Sun and is used most often in astronomical calculations. Star day includes 23 hours 56 minutes and 4 seconds that corresponds to 86344 seconds. In solar day exactly 24 hours, that is 86400 seconds.
2. Divide the time period set in seconds on 86400 (or 86344). The received result will also show the number of days corresponding to a reference value in seconds. For example, 100000 seconds correspond 100000/86400 ≈ to 1.157 days.
3. For practical calculations it is the simplest to use the Google search engine - it has the built-in converter of units of measure and much simpler interface, than any of calculators. Pass to the homepage of the searcher and enter the inquiry formulated in natural "human" language into the only field. For example, for the translation in day of a period of time equal to 600 seconds, enter: "600 seconds a day". Google will count and will display the answer to within 11 signs after a comma: "600 seconds = 0.00694444444 days".
4. If Internet access is absent, then use, for example, the program calculator of the Windows operating system. Start it, having found the corresponding reference in the OS main menu. If you use one of the latests version of a system (Windows 7 or Windows Vista), then press a combination of the keys Ctrl + U to open the additional panel of the calculator with instruments of converting of units of measure. In the top drop-down list of the additional panel choose the line "Time", and on average - the line "Second". Enter into the field under the inscription "From" the initial number of seconds and choose a line "Day" in the lower drop-down list. After that in the field under inscription "B" the calculator will display the number of days corresponding entered values.
