The essay is a genre of the composition in which the author reflects on once heard, read or endured. In contents the identity of the author – his feelings, outlook and thoughts is estimated first of all. Writing of the essay is the mandatory requirement in many educational programs therefore it is extremely important to be able to write it correctly. So qualitatively to write the composition, you can take some advice.
Instruction
1. At first it is necessary to put a problem towards which there will be further a movement of a thought. Remember that the more accurately the problem will be formulated, the material selection will be easier, the foreshortening is more interesting, the it is fascinating and the written composition will be more dynamic.
2. After you put a problem, it is necessary to narrow it to a certain subject – on type "from the particular to the general" (for example, having taken modern ecology for a problem, the subject can sound as follows: "The relations of the person and the nature") or on the "From the general to the particular" type (for example, on the same problem you can take the subject "Protection of the Woods").
3. At permission of the taken problem not to do without the system of proofs in any way. Proofs are two types – quantitative and qualitative. In the first case the put thesis is reasoned with a set of various examples, then the proof will turn out comprehensive (for example if in the composition beauty problem in the modern world is considered, then to the author in any way not to be limited to couple of examples); in the second case the thesis is confirmed by two-three strong and indicative arguments.
4. On the way of writing of the essay it is necessary to follow a certain logical strategy: "Thesis-antithesis-synthesis". For example: at the beginning of the composition you can provide any obvious thesis, then – opposite to it (antithesis). Two theses face and attract reader's interest in permission: true, what of theses? As a result you can solve a problem in several ways: or to clear each thesis in opposition, or to draw a conclusion in favor of one of them, or to unite in third, more general (synthesis).
5. The essay also especially needs special means of the rhetorical equipment. As extremely useful are considered: the antitheses directing rhetorical questions, irony, repetition, exclamation. Use of these means strengthens impact on the reader, but it is necessary to use them extremely carefully.
