What is a lymph

In a human body several types of liquids circulate. Know many about arterial and venous blood circulation, but lymphatic system usually does not attract such interest. Actually it is a system, important for activity of the person: the lymph removes unnecessary substances from bodies, strengthens immunity, protects an organism from viruses.

Lymph

The lymph represents colourless liquid in which various products of disintegration, excess substances from intercellular space of bodies, proteins, salts, toxins and other elements are dissolved. It is one of types of connecting fabric with the high content of water – a lymph quite viscous thanks to a large amount of various substances.

Unlike blood, in it there are no erythrocytes, the main cells of this fabric are lymphocytes. But scientists and physicians say that the lymph is a same blood, only not red: lack of erythrocytes this only difference. If to speak in images, the lymph provides purity in a human body: it "washes" fabrics and bodies and removes all excess and dangerous substances. But this system quite difficult works.

Lymphatic system

Blood, moving on vessels, delivers oxygen and other nutrients to bodies, in cells of tissues of the person liquid comes out blood on intercellular Wednesday – this liquid is called intercellular, in it substances unnecessary bodies collect. If not to delete them it is regular from bodies, cages will incorrectly function, receive poor nutrition, as a result of fabric will begin to collapse, become less smooth and elastic and it is bad to perform the functions. For cleaning of intercellular space a lot of liquid lymphatic system is also necessary. The lymph "takes away" liquid with all its substances and sends on lymphatic streams from below up: from fingers to a breast. The movement on a body is carried out by means of muscles: at reduction of their fabrics, liquid forces the way upward. The fact that at the people leading an active lifestyle seldom happen stagnation of a lymph is explained by it, and inactive people have lymphatic hypostases – quite frequent phenomenon. Further liquid gets on "points of filtration": lymph nodes. There it is cleaned from many foreign substances and enriched with antibodies which fight against the antigens which are contained in a lymph. Thanks to this filter the infectious diseases and cancer cells stop the development. Then on lymphatic vessels liquid goes to two veins about heart – thus the lymph returns to blood which delivers unnecessary products to eliminative organs. It is an urethra at men or a vagina at women, intestines, axillary hollows, nasal channels – through them liquid with the dead leukocytes which died at fight against infections are excreted outside.
