In the nature constantly there are various metamorphoses: there is a clear weather, wind blows, fall down leaves, the rainbow appears in the sky. All this is examples of so-called natural phenomena.

1. Natural phenomena are the any changes happening in live or inanimate nature. They are classified by the nature of influence, origin, duration, regularity of action, distribution scale.

2. By origin they are subdivided into climatic, geological and geomorphological, biological, space and biogeochemical. The most widespread natural phenomena are climatic (a typhoon, a blizzard, a rain) and geological and geomorphological (a tsunami, soil erosion, earthquakes, volcanoes).

3. On duration of action they can be divided on: - instant which usually proceed only a few seconds and minutes (an earthquake, a volcanic eruption); - short-term, they can proceed several hours or days (a squall, icicles, a flood, a full moon, a rain, a strong heat; - the long-term, lasting months and years (climate change, drying of the river).

4. Natural phenomena on regularity of action are divided into daily and seasonal. To the first, in particular, rising and a sunset, and concern the second – a leaf fall, snow thawing in the spring, emergence of kidneys.

5. The special danger to the person is constituted by the spontaneous natural phenomena. The tornado, a lightning, a typhoon, a mudflow belong to them. They have destructive effect and can lead to serious technogenic accidents.

6. So-called unusual natural phenomena are of special interest. Among them the star rain is a stream of meteors which at entry into the terrestrial atmosphere instantly in it burn down and form an enchanting luminescence in the night sky. An unusual natural phenomenon also the lunar rainbow – light which is reflected from the full Moon is considered. It can be observed only in places with high humidity. It is also possible to carry to surprising and unusual occurrences polar lights, Galo, mirages.
