Predators occur not only among animals. In the nature also plants which eat living organisms come across. Such "green predators" live not only on the earth, but also in the water environment. The plants eating insects and small animals, in particular are widespread in tropical and subtropical areas of the planet.

1. Rosyanka – a plant imperceptible in appearance with the small roundish leaves pressed to the Earth's surface. This look prefers damp places and meets in a moderate belt. The rosyanka received the name because of the leaves of the droplets of liquid reminding by the form dew located on hairs. Caustic and bonding liquid attracts various insects. As soon as the victim sits down on a leaf, it is twisted, squeezing an insect in the deadly embraces. "Having digested" a living organism, the leaf is straightened again.
2. Crude places are preferred also by a butterwort. Its leaflets are collected in one big socket. They are covered with a layer of the substance reminding fat and therefore look glossy. To this layer nothing the suspecting insects just are also pasted. The sticky structure does not allow the victim to leave the dangerous place. As a result the insect becomes delicious food for a butterwort. A carnivorous butterwort, oily by sight, it is possible to see not only in swamps, but also in city apartments: fans of exotic plants appreciate it appearance.
3. And here the bladderwort can be met only in still water. This plant has no root system therefore receives nutrients, hunting insects. Leaves and a stalk of a bladderwort are hidden under water, over a surface only yellowish flowers tower. Traps for insects have an appearance of the bubbles equipped with similarity of the door opening outside. Small elastic hairs grope the floating victim. The trap immediately opens, in it with a force water arrives, entraining a living organism.
4. On sandy American plains the Venus flycatcher grows. The appearance of a plant is peculiar: on a top of a flycatcher several large flowers are located, leaves are grouped around a short stalk. Leaflets allow a flycatcher to catch insects and small animals. Liszt at this plant large, its plate is divided into two parts supplied with strong teeth. 5. The predatory way of life is conducted and nepentes, by the traditional inhabitant of tropics. Its long and going-down leaves have on the ends of a trap in the form of small jugs. At the bottom of this vegetable vessel there is a liquid layer containing the caustic substances helping a plant to digest animal food. "Small jug" has a fragrant cover which aroma attracts unlucky guests. The insect who sat down on nepentes inevitably breaks down and it appears at the bottom of a vessel where is digested.
