Scientists designated approximate date of death of the solar system long ago – about 6-7 billion years. This so immeasurably distant future that for concern there are no objective reasons, but in recent years the mankind more often asks this question. It is connected with many events happening on Earth and in space, one of them – the increasing solar activity.
Astronomers well depicted as there will be "a solar Armageddon". In the Universe there are myriads of stars, our Sun – only one of them. Each star has a life cycle, and each star has to pass this way from beginning to end. From the moment of the birth of the Sun passed already about 4 billion 600 million years, through 4 billion years the Sun will begin to grow and heat up, gradually turning into red giant.
Presumably, the star will increase in one thousand times. At first it will absorb Mercury, then – Venus, and then there will come the turn of Earth. By that moment the life on the planet will stop long ago. Long before these events temperature on Earth will increase, snow caps of poles will thaw, a part of continents will leave under water.
Still after a while because of high temperature of the increased Sun the seas and oceans will begin to evaporate, plants will disappear, the survived types will lack oxygen. After all, "the blue planet" will turn into the naked desert, and the mankind will die out for hunger, a heat and a lack of water. After a stage of red giant Sun will begin to fade and will turn in the cold white dwarf, the size there is no more Earth. But all these forecasts are connected with the vast future, and people ask a question already today. The thing is that some researchers prophesy the beginning of the end already very soon. Powerful flashes already have negative impact on the person and the equipment on the Sun, huge solar storms. In one of American states the sudden power outage on all city was a consequence of a solar storm. More than six million people remained that day without electricity and communication. It made some scientists think: what if with the Sun already something not so? What if already now the irreversible mechanism of destruction of life on Earth is started? Thawing of glaciers, an abnormal heat, solar storms, unprecedented deficiency of water in droughty areas of the earth, flooding of small islands, ozone holes – is possible that the mankind in the next several centuries will face a problem of the Sun. These forecasts are not confirmed officially. But people of Earth look for already now a way to move to the neighboring planet – Mars. Of course, prior to expansion of a star 3-4 billion more years so, the mankind has time to be prepared for the approaching danger.
