Who lives in the desert

There are in the world people who consider unsuitable for life of the earth of deserts the house, some of them still lead a nomadic life. These are berbers and bedouins – inhabitants of the Sahara Desert in North Africa, these are nomads Bushmen in Kalakhari, natives of Australia.

Population of the Sahara

Places of a haven of berbers and bedouins are the isolated oases of the Sahara which are always surrounded with a palm grove and are around a water source. Both bedouins, and berbers are engaged in the fact that breed the animals adapted for survival in the desert. Generally it is camels, sheep and goats. Nomads graze herds, and then sell them.

Today in the Sahara there live much more people, than ever before. New settlements grew where are found the oil field or uranium ore. The transport system of the desert is significantly improved, is expensive in habitual understanding and gas stations, maybe, and is not present, but, for example, mobile stations which literally on the run in the desert fill motor transport are widespread in Egypt and Iran.

Water for these new settlements is extracted from deep wells, or brought by trucks.

Kalakhari's population

Bushmen of the South African Kalahari Desert - too the nomadic people, very hardy, well adapted for life in the desert. Their clothes are primitive, usually it is capes and loincloths from skins of animals. A traditional type of classes of Bushmen are a hunting and collecting of fruits, berries, curative herbs. Favourite food of the population of the Kalahari Desert – berries and meat. Meat happens not regularly therefore the people do not disdain also lizards, termites and a locust. Bushmen within available sources of water wander, they own special ability to find water in the desert, and therefore quite often small separate African tribes, structure no more than 20-50 people follow in their tracks. Having stopped somewhere for long time, Bushmen construct to themselves the dwelling - small huts from a grass, branches, skins of animals.

Population of Victoria

The big Victoria Desert in the south of Australia carries the status of the protected area, biospheric reserve. The desert is populated with the small groups of natives conducting the isolated economic activity. Despite severe climatic conditions of the desert, natives refuse flatly to move to more favorable areas. In the environment of tribes of the Australian natives particular importance is attached to ceremonies, totems and religious life.

Dates, olives, apricots and camel milk – the main food of nomads in the desert.

Today electricity, mobile communication, the Internet, cash cards, cars and other benefits of a civilization have no value in life of desert inhabitants. Everything that it is necessary for them - it is some rights to isolation and non-interference from the outside. They learned to cope with all the rest for a long time.
