Aggression, as a rule, is directed to other object, is more rare on itself. It can be caused by anger, irritation, offense, pain, that is all what in psychology is designated by the word frustration. This clever word in translation into usual everyday language means that the interests of the person are roughly violated.

Main reasons for aggression

Such type of behavior as aggression is very important; its reasons and consequences serve for protection of the individual against the world around and against people hostile to it.

But it, when it comes to healthy aggression. Unhealthy aggression which often contacts deviant behavior has absolutely other reasons. It is often accompanied by a low self-assessment, aspiration to imitate heroes of fighters, greed, inability to get it together. Consequences of such aggression – a fight, inability to get on with people, social isolation.

Anyway the reasons of aggression come down to intention to regain control over situation drastic measures. The person in response to threat in an organism has a reaction to a stress, adrenaline which gives it force is in reply emitted.

Types and signs of aggressive behavior

Psychologists allocate two types of aggressive behavior. One is a protection. It can be both healthy, and unhealthy depending on that, obvious threat to the person or only seeming. Other type of aggression initially attacking. In the animal nature it is presented at predators. At people such type of behavior should be kept under strict control.

Signs of aggressive behavior usually indicate that the individual is going to enter the conflict with people around. He behaves roughly, provocatively, does not hide the hostility, sharply condemns the opponent. Often it is shown also at the physiological level: hands begin to shiver, the person reddens, fists are clenched, the body strains.

The psychology of aggression and aggressive behavior is separate science. Many famous scientists, such as Z. Freud, E. Fromm, K. Lorentz, studied this type of reactions. They agree in opinion that aggression in itself is not a harmful type of behavior, and carries out tasks of protection of the country, the family and itself from the opponent. The aggressive behavior can be useful when upholding the political rights and freedoms, at repulse to the enemy who attacked others territory, or, even at the internal conflict when it is necessary to abuse himself properly.
