In any community of live subjects it is possible to allocate three main generations: senior, mature and young.
The conflict between generations – a normal constant component of relationship senior and younger. Such relationship is caused by the device of biological life. In the nature of old succeeds new, and this process does not stop in space time. In human community the natural generation change should be considered as continuous reproduction of cultural differences. At the same time parties of the conflict are divided by a way by means of which any given generation goes through stages of growing and finds capacity. Modern in culture can keep itself, being only put at constant risk of obsolescence. Traditional in culture remains thanks to continuous updating.
Conflicts of generations in family
Telling every time about the conflict between generations, between children and fathers, we pass to consideration of a problem at the microlevel. That is, eventually, we investigate problems of relationship in family. The relations in any family represent relevant model of the conflict of generations (at least and hidden). On the example of family the typical contradictions of generations existing in society open. Relationship of generations in some great number of families can be typified on certain signs, in such a way the sociology and conflictology study age and value structure of all society. So, generalizing results and drawing conclusions, we can investigate the conflicts of each new generation with previous at the macrolevel.
In any society at different stages of its life development it is possible to allocate the groups, the most inclined to various forms to manifestations of conflictness at the different levels. It is also possible to allocate also the most frictionless representatives of generation, conditionally uniting them on certain value, cultural and psychological signs. Each new generation is characterized by special outlook, spiritual shape, interests, the relation to status situation in society.
Relationship in society in the 20th century (especially in the second half) it was characterized by noticeable conflictness of young people. That is, the dominating role in initiation and development of changes in society was played by youth culture (so, however, was and earlier). The main difference of this process in the 20th century and now is that the culture of young people define not a mainstream of generation, but various underground forms, that is youth subcultures at all. In general, the conflicts of generations and youth subcultures – object of continuous study for modern cultural science, conflictology, sociology and social psychology.
