1. Arrange a dinner and invite to it the girlfriend of your son. The dinner is the tradition established in our society for a long time, besides it creates the situation, most suitable for acquaintance.
2. Make an impression as if it is a usual dinner just in the family. Do not inflate from it an event of regional scale and do not try to stand out somehow before the girlfriend of the son. Be sure that her (worrying not less, and it is more of yours) it at least will confuse if does not frighten off.
3. Not to get into an awkward situation, having asked some incorrect question or having touched upon a subject, too delicate for the guest, ask the son to tell just before acquaintance to you about the girl. Perhaps, she will be a vegetarian or it will become clear that the girl does not love a talk on policy because her father very strongly endures a failure on an arena of politics, etc.
4. In advance think over the approximate list of subjects on which it would be possible to talk to the girlfriend of the son, differently after questions of her parents and of how and when she graduated from school, at a table the awkward pause can hang. But let they concern not only the girl and her relatives that the dinner acquaintance did not turn into an interview which should be finished with the words "We Will Call You if You Suit Us".
5. At supper do not turn into the fan of the own son to increase his popularity. It is not obligatory to tell at all about that when your "sonny clear head" began to read, especially you should not list all his school awards. Be sure if the girl agreed to such serious step as acquaintance to parents, so to your son she has quite serious feelings.
