Persuasive states

Persuasive states are a symptom at which at the patient appear alien to it, unpleasant thoughts, memoirs, representations, inclinations. At the same time the person realizes uselessness or abnormality of these thoughts, tries to fight with them, but they come back again and again.

Symptoms of persuasive states can be shown also at absolutely healthy people. Usually it occurs at strong fatigue, nervous exhaustion, after a serious illness, long-term treatment by some medicines, at chronic intoxications and injuries of the head. Such states usually are temporary, have weak expressiveness and have no constancy.

Signs of persuasive states

Persuasive states differ from temporary changes of consciousness of the person in such signs:

  • have constancy of manifestation of rather painful symptom. For example, at the obsessional neurosis which is shown in desire everything to count, the person will try to consider all catching sight objects: windows in houses, buttons on clothes of surrounding people, trees, etc.;
  • the person is in depression as has no opportunity to get rid of persuasive states;
  • these states can be followed by nausea, tics, a tremor of hands, desires to urination, heartbeat increase, inflows of heat;
  • to the person strange thoughts, type come to mind that would be if at the person of an eye were on a nape;
  • there is a fatigue, irritability, problems with a dream and concentration of attention, memory violation.

Obsessional neurosis of fear

Obsessional neurosis of fear most often occurs among the described diseases. It can be caused by the most various objects and the phenomena. The most widespread of them: fear of death, height, a disease, the closed space, fear to redden, fear of sharp objects.

Treatment of persuasive states

Treatment of persuasive states consists of such components:

  1. Behavioural psychotherapy. Not all patients agree to undergo this therapy as it includes provocation of frightening actions and thoughts for the purpose of reduction of duration of a ritual. To the patient suggest to make what torments him under control of the doctor, but in limited time.
  2. Medicamentous therapy. This type of therapy is effective only in combination with psychotherapy. The patient who was treated only by drugs is subject to a disease recurrence. Treatment is carried out to improvement approach.
