The fact is that in the course of anatomic studies it was found out that from a ring finger to heart there is a certain thin nerve which connects them together.

Christians adopted this tradition. In the ninth century on wedding rings began to engrave texts from the Bible that directly connected rings with a wedding ritual. Esoterics considers that wedding rings work as limiters of power currents.
