The suit for water swimming – the diving suit, is necessary equipment for occupations diving or spearfishing. It can be three types: wet, dry and moist. When choosing the diving suit it is necessary to be guided by certain criteria.
1. If you plan to buy the suit for short-term immersions in warm water (+28 degrees and above), then it is necessary to stop the choice on the T-shirt and shorts made of the neoprene two-three millimeters thick. At long immersion or swimming in cold water it will be more expedient to choose the wet diving suit. Thanks to it, the swimmer can be long time under water and not freeze at the same time. The wet diving suit perfectly keeps heat-shielding properties even at cuts or small damages as initially it isn't waterproof.
2. When choosing the suit for scuba diving it is necessary to consider material of which it is made. The neoprene is the main and best material for production of diving suits. Its advantages: the ravnorastyazhimost diversely, softness and the excellent heat-insulating properties because of the vials of air which are located in micropores. To provide convenience of putting on and big mechanical durability of the diving suit, the neoprene is duplicated by fabric.
3. Choosing the suit, consider that its heat-shielding properties in the majority depend on density of the adherence to the body and its thickness. The diving suit, the more protection against cold is thicker, but it limits mobility of the swimmer and demands big cargoes for ensuring buoyancy of the suit. For immersions deeply it is necessary to use the thickest suit as with the pressure of water heat-shielding properties of material worsen. In addition to the suit it is possible to use gloves, thin socks and mittens.
4. Lightnings and fasteners on the diving suit deserve special attention. Irrespective of their arrangement you remember what on the one side of their length and existence can positively affect convenience of removal or clothing, but on the other hand – it has an adverse effect on diving suit heat-shielding indicators. If the lightning is located behind, then the runner has to be equipped strong and length with the tape for the possibility of independent fastening and unfastening.
5. Pay special attention to the places of the suit subject to wear – elbows and knees. At these places there have to be additional slips vulcanized or pasted to the defended sites. Dry suits with the open face and hands will be suitable for fans of diving. Cuffs on sleeves and cervical obturation for the best sealing are provided in such suit for scuba diving.
