The toe loop (from the English two loop) is considered to be one of the most ordinary jumps in figure skating. Most often the toe loop is carried out by the second jump in jump combinations.
1. In figure skating many jumps are carried out from one edge on another, and in some of them use teeth of skates. Just the toe loop which is called the jump from the little push the tooth also belongs to such jumps. So, it is necessary to do the following. Try to slide back-outside, further develop shoulders, trying to be pushed from ice by means of the sock of the free leg. Then continue to turn and jump so that to make landing on the edge back-outside. The left sock has to rest against ice very smoothly practically without stopping.
2. In order that it is better to understand technology of performance of the jump, try to imagine, what are you doing the waltz jump from the sock. Also before commission of the jump do turn of the head more to the left shoulder. If to speak about possible mistakes, then they generally the same, as in other jumps, the truth are one which it is worth mentioning separately. During performance of the jump you need to be convinced that the sock is directed exactly down, otherwise, it won't crash into the ice covering, and you risk to fall.
3. To appear on the edge back-outside, try to make the internal three before jumping (actually it isn't so difficult). Such three is carried out approximately as well as forward-outside, namely: ready position, turn and control. If the jump is made counterclockwise, then the first position has to be on the edge forward-inside, then very strongly untwist shoulders and hands counterclockwise and make three turn. Notice that the free leg has to go to the same time around basic on rather wide radius in order that you could land in the home position. If you begin to do the three at once, then just before the push there will be absolutely small pause (or it won't be at all), and then all combination will look very smooth and harmonious.
