Liberty Media created the model from the research of possible change of the starting lattice in the future. Among other things investigate the idea of arrangement of two racers to one line and consolidations of the starting lattice.
Pat Simonds who was appointed the technical director of "Formula One" works on several projects which aim to improve quality of races of the Grand Prix.
Last year he reported that F1 estimates the possibility of change of the starting lattice and will try to enter it in the virtual world.
But instead of use of cybersport S_mods on the international show Autosport told how approach of "Formula One" has to change: "We want to introduce the justified decisions. For these years we got used to use of the starting lattice in chessboard order at distance of eight meters.
We asked the question and that will occur if we move cars more closely to each other and we will put them nearby. Not four and not three, as earlier, and two in one row.
If you want to check carefully something similar and you solve as the usual physical problem, then you receive banal result – cars start more closely to each other and accelerate equally therefore enter the first turn practically next to each other.

"Formula One" hard worked on the cybersports platform to create the official game. However, as understands Motorsport.comprosto to use the computer game for such researches as return starting lattice, it is impossible as it wouldn't be realistic. Simonds explained that in the method 19 vehicles which are operated by artificial intelligence, and one with the real person when start "50 races on two circles" are used.
He noted: "It allowed to analyze statistically each position of the race car at any time. When we made it with the lattice, received 3% more accidents, for 5% the number of overtakings also increased by 20% – fight the wheel in the wheel".
Simonds assured that F1 tries to avoid repetition of such mistakes as unsuccessful change of the format of qualification at the beginning of 2016: "We want to get rid of practice of those times and to use scientific approach".
